The WorkMatters Institute is a leadership and discipleship summer program focused on effectively incorporating faith to the workplace that I completed in the summer of 2014. Through this program, I participated in leadership events such as Leadercast and development sessions at the Soderquist Center at John Brown University. Each week we would hear lectures given by influential executives from around Northwest Arkansas (Mike Duke/Walmart, Donnie Smith/Tyson, Elise Mitchell/Mitchell Communications Group, and others) on topics such as integrity, excellence, balance, influence and service. In addition to completing the summer program I volunteered for WorkMatters and aided with client and contact management and event coordination.The WorkMatters Institute has positively shifted my perception of work and has demonstrated the rigors of excellent work and the importance to always doing your best.
