It wasn’t until I became a client of Northwestern Mutual that I understood the value of a proper financial plan. Shortly after getting married, my wife was diagnosed with a rare form of cancer that put our life on pause. Our focus became less about the future and more about just getting through the day. After a long battle, her scans came back clean – she had beaten cancer! Even though we were elated with this, once the smoke cleared, we realized the next battle we had was trying to recover financially. After having a conversation with my Financial Advisor, all I could think about is that I wished this conversation would have taken place 8 years ago – before the emotional, physical and financial battle. Because of this experience, I feel it is my duty and responsibility to help others in developing comprehensive financial plans.
