About Ryan Rector

I am a self directed software engineer and system designer, regularly designing and developing meaningful software projects of all sizes from business requirements to shipped and stable.I have worked extensively as a full stack developer with Java and C# based server applications utilizing large databases with web frontends and APIs, and have used a variety of other solutions to solve a variety of problems in a variety of fields as each situation requires. I design for functionality, ease of use, and that rare spark of delight when software really does "just work" to solve a heavy problem for someone.Now I'm looking for bigger problems to work on. Like "fix the internet" big. Let's reinforce the "distributed" part of the whole thing and make it more resilient while we're at it. Let's build a protocol or two so social media can be a tool that enhances our ability to be social again. Or build a modern Microsoft Bob to add a little more joy to the world through the computing experience.
