• Work in a 722 bed, Magnet-designated, teaching hospital.• Assess, implement, and evaluate care needed by patient assignment under the direction of a licensed physician.• Knowledgeable about principles, theories, current methods and techniques of nursing practice.• Collaboration with patient, patient’s family member(s)/significant others, professional peers and other members of the health care team to individualize care.• Direct nursing support staff in the provision of patient care according to the standards of nursing practice, administrative and departmental policies and procedures. • Manage the care of patients covered by various specialties including: Orthopedics, Urology, Neurology, Neurosurgery, Medicine, and Trauma.• Comply with HIPAA standards in all patient documentation and interactions.• Successfully completed Vizient Nurse Residency Program.

• Provided compassionate, knowledgeable nursing assistance for the 27-bed Oncology floor• Test and chart vital signs including blood pressure, temperature, and blood sugar levels• Manage supplies and restock inventory to ensure optimal availability for patient care• Supervise patients with diminished capacity and monitor safety hazards• Help patients with daily activities such as meals, hygiene, and dressing• Adhere to all safety guidelines, hospital protocols, and regulations• Collaborate effectively with interdisciplinary team to carry out doctor’s orders and optimize treatment• Comply with HIPAA standards in all patient documentation and interactions

• Swiftly and accurately calculate dosages and dispense medications• Use the proprietary computer program to access prescription information including patient and prescriber data, drug selection, and prescription interpretation• Research and resolve dosage conflicts, potentially harmful drug interactions, insurance issues and other matters regarding patient safety and wellness
