Freelance Fashion Designer, Patterncutter and Seamster. I am a Fashion designer based in South Wales, UK. I strive to create quality garments that are made to last, engineered with precision and in my home studio in Wales. Inclusivity and sustainability are just two of the core values at the heart of the brand. 🦾I have a visible, physical disability which empowers me to push inclusivity and adaptability on the runway, Ryan Rix UK is where strength meets elegance. Utilising deadstock / roll end fabrics is one way I create sustainable garments. Everything is also made to order and made in my studio in Wales, bypassing the need for mass manufacture, tremendously reducing waste and CO2 footprint. I design, pattern-cut, sample and sew everything by myself. 👨🏻‍💻Currently studying PGCE qualification - post compulsory education in adult and continued learning sector. I have a huge passion not just for fashion but teaching also. Education is the KEY to change and sustainability, I hope to teach the next generation of fashion change makers. I have my foundation degree in Fashion Design with Enterprise and my BA (Honours) degree in Fashion Design. I also take on client work - custom commissions for drag & evening wear just to name a few genres. I also freelance pattern-cut and sew for those who look for these services. I volunteer at the local amateur theatre, reworking existing garments in the wardrobe department as well as creating custom garments for actors.
