Hi, my name is Ryan Rodas - I’m a San Diego native from Carmel Valley. I went to Torrey Pines High School, and then San Diego State University.I currently reside in Encinitas, CA where I spend free time surfing and playing beach volleyball. I have quickly become a leading Solar Rep for Kota Energy Group. If you or anyone you know is a homeowner in Southern California and doesn’t have Solar…you are literally lighting money on fire.In 2010, the cost of electricity was 13.9cents per kilowatt hour (kWh) Think of this as a gallon of gas, but the electric version that your house uses.In 2020, the cost of electricity was 26.8 cents per kWh.In 2022…the cost has risen to ~42-45 cents per kWh on average in San Diego county depending which energy plan you have with SDGE.What does this mean? It means that in 12 years, the cost of electricity has TRIPLED! Why is this happening? California is a “Green State” which means we have shut down all our nuclear power plants and coal burning plants. Which means we don’t have any locally generated power. What this really means is that we are importing all of our power from out of state and the cost to maintain the grid is getting extremely expensive, and its being passed down to homeowners.I’ve lived in San Diego for 30 years. I’ve never had the opportunity to use anyone other than SDGE…have you? No, of course not - they are a monopoly. This means that they get to dictate the rate increases and we have to pay them.How can I stop relying on SDGE for power? Solar Energy.How much does it cost? $0 out of pocketWhy? Because you are already paying an electric bill. All I want to do is reallocate that money to asset like solar. Myclients are able to cut their existing electric bill in half, get more power than they currently use from SDGE, pay nothing out of pocket, and get a HUGE tax credit from the federal government when they file for taxes. What’s the tax credit? The government REALLY wants people to go solar - so much that they are paying for 30% of the total cost of the system, the year you get it installed. The trick is, they do it through your taxes. So the tax credit works as a dollar for dollar credit against what you’ve already paid in taxes(W2), or against what you owe in taxes (1099 / LLC / S Corp. etc.)Long story short - Going solar means you get more power, you pay about half as much per kWh, you’re getting a huge tax credit, and when you’re done paying off your system…You own it, and you no longer have to pay for power…but you still continue to get it.
