In my role as a a Resource Management Technician, I gained extensive experience conducting pre-permit inspections, post permit inspections and compliance inspections relating to the Public Lands ACT and the Lakes and Rivers Improvement ACT. - I was responsible to consult with landowners and contractors on various projects including: shoreline alterations, unauthorized occupation of Crown land, filling of Crown land, dredging of Crown land, and reviewing work permit submissions. -I developed knowledge of the Beds of Navigable Waters Act, when I completed a Navigability Report to determine the ownership of a riverbed. To complete this task, I analyzed previous historical reports and deeds to gain background information on the history of the land. -I have developed and maintained harmonious relationships with internal staff members and externally with other government agencies such as: municipalities, Conservation Authorities, Department of Fisheries and Oceans, and the Ministry of Environment and Climate Change. I maintained these relationships by identifying conflicts and diffusing potential issues by sharing information and providing expertise on various situations. I cooperatively worked with municipalities to deal with nuisance and problem wildlife animals. I would provide advice and education of the Fish and Wildlife Conservation Act, and how to properly diffuse nuisance wildlife situations that align with the policies and procedures. I collaborated with other government agencies through compliance site inspections, where we would discuss the situation and in certain cases, complete a joint site inspection. By doing this, I am gaining knowledge of other legislation and policies, as well as promoting awareness of Crown resources to help sustain them.- I was involved with various resource management programs including: Muskellunge Egg Collection, Fisher jaw data sampling, Piping Plover Food Survey, Black bear food survey, and Egret bird banding.
