San Antonio, Texas Area

I was a beat reporter covering commercial and residential real estate news in the San Antonio metro area. I also did some coverage of retail, banking and insurance. I averaged two stories per day for our online publication, selected my best three or four stories of the week for our print edition, and expanded my ongoing coverage of topics with bi-monthly, 1,000-word-plus cover stories. I also curate SABJ's Crane Watch page and publish a bi-weekly leasing and sales update called Transaction Action.

Greater New York City Area

My main responsibility was researching and compiling profiles for individuals appearing on the 2017 Forbes Billionaires List. Other responsibilities include:- Gathering information using public records from such sources as NETR Online for U.S. real estate, SEC, Company House, JPX and CNMV.- Fact checked and edited dozens of stories.- Conducted interviews and wrote online posts.- Worked with sports desk to compile a list of the world’s billionaire sports team owners.- Worked with companies and individuals in various time zones.

I worked under our main City Desk editor to fact check, edit and see stories through to publication. I also pitched stories at daily staff meetings and occasionally worked on stories of my own.

As a Brewery Tech, my job was to assist in the brewing process in any way I can. This included:- Mashing out and cleaning the kettle after brewing- Transferring items between our Pittsboro and Chapel Hill locations- Filling and cleaning kegs- Cleaning taps and putting beer on tap at our bars- CIP fermenters and serving tanks- Assisting our mobile canning team- Operating our bottling line- Lead weekly tours for patrons- Loading and sending beer out with distributors- Occasionally work catering events and beer festivals
