I graduated with a BSC honours in Biology from the university of York in 2018. After graduation, I worked in a laboratory in the aquatic ecotoxicology department where we tested substances to determine whether they were fit for the market, and their impact on the environment. It was a great experience but I found myself wanting to be at the forefront, face to face with people.I took a chance and started my career in Pest control in February 2020. I was a technician for around a year and a half, predominantly around London where I acquired my level 1 and level 2 BPCA in pest control. I got the opportunity to move across to the Teesside team which allowed me to move back to York whilst retaining my job. I quickly integrated into the team and soon began training new starters which I thoroughly enjoyed. As I became more senior in the team, I started taking on additional responsibilities and went through the BPCA level 3 course to which I passed with Distinction. In July 2022 I got promoted to Surveyor/Consultant within the Teesside team. The role is suited to my skills set as I enjoy interacting with new clients and believe I have the knowledge and expertise to offer sound advice on a wide range of pest related issues.
