I have wide-ranging legal experience, in real estate fields such as evictions, landlord-tenant, lease negotiations, and bankruptcy; wireless telecommunications and FCC law; torts including slip-and-fall cases; contract disputes and collateral tort claims; breach of trust, US and international arbitration law, and drafting and negotiating contracts and settlement agreements.In my practice, I dedicate myself to finding creative solutions to problems and analyzing strategy to determine the best course of action to reach the client's objective. At the same time, I pride myself on being an "honest broker" for my clients. I always aim to objectively assess my client's case and the odds of success rather than promise the moon and the stars, and keep costs reasonable by pursing only those strategies which are worth the cost to the client, rather than doing work simply to fill time.In my practice, I am deeply dedicated to promoting diversity and inclusion at Sherman & Howard. As a white male attorney who has had immeasurable luck and support, I am committed to making the legal community as welcoming to all attorneys as it was to me. I performed work equivalent to that of a full associate, including writing the initial draft of an opening brief in a complex international arbitration case involving satellite contracts against a short deadline.

I served as the sole intern that summer for both the Hon. Neil Gorsuch (now Justice of the U.S. Supreme Court) and the Hon. Timothy Tymkovich. In my time with then-Judge Gorsuch, I assisted in research and drafting regarding the history and rules regarding courts' application of other decisions' dicta in reaching their own rulings - what weight to afford the dicta depending on the circumstances in which it was created, including the respective seniority of the court - for use in Judge Gorsuch's contribution to a future treatise by Prof. Bryan Garner.In my time with Judge Tymkovich, I reviewed the latest term of Supreme Court decisions and drafted digests for inclusion in a future annual review of the court's docket and rulings, including a summary of the overall impact of the court's decisions as a projection of where the court may be headed.
