I have been teaching and coaching for the past ten years at the secondary level. I have a passion for teaching mathematics and showing students the applications that relate to real-world problem solving skills. Building a relationship with students and athletes comes first. I have learned how to do this both inside and outside of the classroom. I was the head varsity basketball coach at Prairie Ridge High School. I have learned to lead an entire program and build a culture. I have also coached football, golf, and track. I have been a member of the school improvement team in which I led and developed a school attendance program to decrease levels of truancy and improve academic success. I have taught in School District U-46 and student taught in the Chicago Public Schools. I have experience working with a very diverse population of students.I am excited to start my career in instructional leadership as the Assistant Principal of Freshmen Success at Elgin High School.
