I have been working since the age of 16 in various different forms of work as well as having grown up on a farm I am no stranger to hard work. At 16 I worked in a piggery for a summer followed by two summers as a cleaning contractor with Apleona (Abbott’s, Longford). For the duration of my four year college course I worked summers and weekends at Pat the Bakers. A trait I pride myself on is attendance which I believe is essential in any commitment in your life including work, sport etc. I have the achievement of full attendance for my time in secondary school (2013-2019). At University I studied general science and specialised in Chemistry for my final year. I have experience in a wide range of chemistry fields including Physical chemistry, Organic chemistry, Bioorganic chemistry, Inorganic chemistry which include many analytical techniques such as NMR and Mass Spectrometry. For my thesis in final year my project was “Bioorthogonal Desulfurative Transformation of Cysteine Residues via Radical Intermediates”. This project was in the field of Organic chemistry, specifically Radical chemistry. I found the field of Organic chemistry tougher than other aspects of my college course but more interesting and rewarding. I would enjoy further work in Organic chemistry in the future.
