What is more satisfying than proving the power of branding in your own startup? Ellicott & Co. came into existence as a side hustle that turned into a successful micro brand in the Lancaster community. Ellicott brings a casual and rugged masculine style to the downtown retail landscape, outfitting modern men with heritage-inspired apparel and accessories.

Starting a business in the tumult of the 2008 recession was one of the hardest things I ever did, but it taught me resilience in the face of hardship and gave me a hunger to win. Working for myself filled in the entrepreneurial gaps I was missing, teaching me how to sell and how to lead a business owner through a branding process. Several of the clients I worked with during these years are still with Infantree today.

Go Welsh was my chance to grow into a mature designer and art director. In this small studio environment, I learned excellence in the craft and gained a meticulous approach to design excellence. I quickly went beyond my technical abilities and started to employ greater strategic thinking in my work. I worked directly with a lot of business owners, which was formative in my ability to confidently lead others.

I cut my teeth in the industry as a graphic designer, working with art directors and account executives to bring ad campaigns to life. I learned the ins and outs of delivering creative on-time and on brief. Working at a large agency helped me understand the entire creative process across multiple departments, juggling deadlines and demands in a busy work environment.
