One of four site directors overseeing the daily operation of a dual unit 1380 MWe General Electric Boiling Water Nuclear Power Plant. Daily responsibilities include assessing the risk to generation of degraded equipment, ensuring configuration of the facility is maintained within the design basis of the Updated Final Safety Analysis Report, and setting the priority for emergent/planned activities. Additionally, the directors are responsible for managing the site’s $225 million budget. This includes selection of projects, maintenance activities, and staffing decisions. The engineering department is focused on improving equipment reliability to maintain continuous operation of the units. As the Engineering Director I have oversight of the following groups:Strategic Engineering - Responsible for monitoring the plant systems, coordinating system improvements, and troubleshooting abnormal system issuesDesign Engineering – Mechanical, Electrical and Civil Engineers responsible for designing modifications to plant systems to improve reliability and resolve obsolescence issuesComponent Maintenance Optimization (CMO) – Team of engineers responsible for monitoring the plant systems with predictive technology (Thermography, Vibration, Oil Analysis, etc.) and optimization of preventative maintenance strategies for the various types of plant systems (Valve, Motors, Breakers, Pumps, etc.)Key Achievements:- Completed bi-annual refueling outage in 12 days, 14 hours and 14 minutes: BWR world record duration.- Achieved the lowest dollar per MWe cost for a nuclear power plant in the United States- Achieved sixth consecutive Excellence Rating (top rating) from Institute of Nuclear Power Operators (INPO

Responsible for safe and reliable execution of I&C tasks in the plant through oversight in the field and management of the department’s training programs. Key Achievements:- Implemented the I&C portions of the Extended Power Uprate (EPU) Project. EPU was $850 million project to increase the capacity of both units by 200 MWe.
