Sandston, Va

Serves as the Assistant Operations Officer to an Army Aviation unit. Plan, manage, and coordinate all training requirements for the year to include ranges, aviation operations, logistics operations, and command functions. Continued to fly and maintain high levels of proficiency in the UH-60 Black Hawk helicopter, serving as a Pilot in Command.

Serves as a Detachment Commander for a 35 soldier helicopter detachment. Responsible for overseeing all personnel, administrative, finance and training issues related to the detachment. Plans, coordinates, and executes training opportunities with other military and governmental organizations throughout Virginia. Pilots the UH-72 Lakota helicopter with Pilot-in-Command status for all day/night/night vision goggle mission profiles.

Serves as HHC Company Commander. Responsible for the training and welfare of 85 Soldiers assigned to 7 Staff Sections, encompassing multiple Military Operational Skills. Responsible to train and prepare Soldiers for deployment mission requirements.Plans and coordinates company level functions for all drill and annual training periods. Sets policy and procedures for the company while working towards full mission capability. Responsible for unit's leadership, discipline, tactical employment, personnel management and communication activities. Prepare unit Soldiers to respond to any emergency or contingency mobilization as directed by the Governor or National Command Authority. In addition, pilots UH-60 helicopters and has maintained Readiness Level 1 Day/Night/NVG status, with Pilot in Command Day/Night.

As a Platoon Leader in a UH-60 Air Assault Company responsible for any state or national emergency mobilization requirements as dictated by the governor or National Command Authority. Responsible to execute the Commander's Aviation Training Program and to train platoon crewmembers in every aspect of the Company's Mission Essential Task List. Responsible to complete Aircrew Training Program and APART requirements IAW the Commander's Task List and responsible to set and maintain aviation standards IAW ARs, NGRs, TC 1-237 and SOPs. He is also responsible to maintain proficiency in all aspects of the UH-60, including tactical, instrument, Night Vision Goggle, and administrative flight requirements. Earned the Army Air Medal for flights conducted under combat operations in Iraq.
