Sales Executive / Realtor

Off Premise Wine Sales Representative
My day to day responsibilities included working directly with grocery store managers and independent retail owners on the sale of the above items in their stores. My main focus was to sell my product to the retailer using strategic pricing, product knowledge, negotiation, and merchandising strategies. My job was to increase sales of all items in our portfolio, grow the distribution of new brands introduced, and maintain customer service to the highest level with all customers. This was a route-based sales role where I called on over 60 accounts in a specified territory. In my time with Breakthru, I opened up numerous new accounts, increased sales by an average of 12% on a monthly quota basis, consistently hit bonus goals which were called go-to Market Goals, received salesman of the month three times on a team of 18 sales reps in our region. In this particular role, I had a slightly longer leash than other sales reps due to the type of route I had. I had the ability to work and negotiate directly with our individual suppliers to put together quantity deals to present to my customers. My main focus was not to sell individual cases of our products but massive quantity deals. Some of my biggest sales were 100 case deals of the same product, which were then displayed in front of the retail outlet to drive retail sales. Achievements: Increased sales in a route that was doing around $1.1 Million to over $1.3 Million in only 17 months. My biggest client accounted for roughly $500,000 and in this location I had over 60% of the floor displays.
On Premise / Off Premise Wine Sales Representative
The biggest difference in the two similar positions at Breakthru and Southern wine were that at Breakthru my accounts were mostly all bulk grocery stores and independently owned retail outlets such as ABC package stores and convenience stores. Whereas at SWS the main type of account I called on were restaurants. I did have some independent retail outlets and only a few grocery stores. In my time with SWS I increased sales by an average of 15% on a yearly basis. When I started out, my route-based position was doing just over $800,000. I was promoted to 2 different routes in my time there, and when I left my last route was doing just over $1.4 Million in total sales. I called on and oversaw over 140 accounts in this role. In my time here, we launched quite a few new products, and we always had POD’s or points of distribution goals. My success rate with POD placements averaged 86%, which was in the top 10% of our company. One big reason why I had so much success in this role was my ability to meet the expectation of my customers as well as my sales manager. I understood that if my customer’s business was successful based on the products, I was selling them, that in turn, my business would also grow and be successful.Achievements: Received the salesman of the month award in the Charleston branch 5 times out of 24 reps | Received the salesman of the year award once for the entire state of SC |
Owner / Managing Partner
As the owner, I was responsible for all business operations, including the handling of cash flow, accounting, inventory management, payroll, employee scheduling, monthly sales tax reporting, budgeting, and customer service at the highest level. I oversaw day-to-day responsibilities, including the ordering, stocking, and merchandising of wine and spirits to be sold in a retail outlet to consumers. In the two years I co-owned owned this business, I helped increase sales by a small amount of roughly 8% a year from total sales year 1 of $460,000 to $530,000 in year two. We decided to sell this business due to the lack of margin and profit we were making. We realized that we needed significantly more buying power (cash) to be able to purchase the larger quantity deals to get our retail cost down to be competitive with our competition. We ended up selling the business pretty quickly to another party for 6% more than we paid for. All in all, it was a great learning experience owning a business at a young age. Owning this store was what led me into the distribution side of the product we were selling. I made quite a few contacts with the sales reps that were calling in my store. After we sold the business, I landed an interview and also a position with SWS.
