As a high school drop-out, I’ve worn many hats. From waiting tables, modelling, performing martial arts to organising events. I started out as a video editor, editing funeral montages, weddings and corporate events. Tired of editing substandard shots, I became a wedding videographer, wanting to create meaningful videos that would last a lifetime.YouTube was a platform for experimenting outside of wedding videos, while building my skills. Our third video, “Sh** Singaporean Girlfriends Say”, went viral in 2013. In the same year, clients such as the Singapore Police Force, Canon, and Heaven and Earth approached us. With that, Night Owl Cinematics became the first self-sustaining YouTube creators in Singapore, during the era of “Gangnam Style”.As an ex Founder and Chief Operations Officer at NOC, I oversee product innovation, and ensure the company continually reinvests in quality content, equipment and people. We are the only Singaporean YouTube channel that use an external sound design company to polish our video sound quality. In 2018, we upgraded to a RED cinema camera setup solely for YouTube videos. As a self-taught filmmaker and videographer, I live by one goal: to learn one new thing before I go to bed each day. I was turned away by many places due to insufficient qualifications and education. In 2016, NOC was recognized in Forbes 30 under 30. In 2018, we guest appeared in Buzzfeed’s Worth It series.
