Playful is an independent studio developing games across multiple platforms, partnerships, and genres. The time from this internship exposed all facets of engineering for an Xbox and PC title with a successful ship date for the Xbox One X console launch. Developed in Unity using C# at a professional studio on two console titles, Super Lucky's Tale (Xbox One X launch title) and Star Child (PSVR title). Collaborated across disciplines to develop and extend custom Unity editor tools including asset import pipelines to improve workflow and productivity. Extended build scripts in C# and Ruby and managed local TeamCity CI build agents. Extended deployment scripts to deploy nightly builds to all networked Xbox development kits. Coordinated with producers and team leads during agile scrum meetings to meet milestones and ship a game. Developed gameplay systems, Xbox Live backend systems (achievements, stats, etc), UI navigation, player save data and progression mechanics, squashed bugs and more. Automated the Credits sequence to include all Playful employees, outsource crews and Microsoft publishing teams. Quickly fit in to the company culture while providing quality work leading to a winter semester extension.
