Ryan Targa is an educator and historian pursuing tech entrepreneurship to create change in the education sector.In 2022, Ryan received a Ph.D. from York University. The central themes of his dissertation include Great War profiteering, Great War culture, and the Democratic Revolt of the late and post-World War I period in Canada. For several years during his doctoral studies, he taught a third-year course 'The Working Class in Canadian Society.' In addition, he has many years of experience leading tutorials and seminars, workshops, public lectures, and conference presentations.As an individual passionate about teaching and education, Ryan has enjoyed opportunities to promote history and education in public spaces. Some highlights include his involvement in the founding of York’s public history program; the organization of an exhibit commemorating the Great War; and his experience working as a project developer for the Ontario Heritage Trust’s Military Heritage Resource, which was part of the Trust’s "Expanding the Narrative" initiative. Acting on a long-standing desire to enhance the accessibility and efficiency of the education sector, Ryan and his brother Dan founded MyndFull in 2022. The startup aims to provide a state-of-the-art platform that allows its users to find and organize educational events in a way that is intuitive, fast, and comprehensive. Routine tasks, such as finding speakers, drafting event information, and event promotion, can be accomplished with relative ease. Searching for events can be tailored around academic disciplines and user-created tags so users can quickly discover events that match their scholarly interests. MyndFull will also provide a paid service for institutional account holders.
