I have been involved in many aspects of the criminal justice field. I started my career in the United States Navy as a Master-at-Arms, which is police and anti-terrorism security forces. As my time concluded in the military I obtained employment at the Charleston County Detention Center as a corrections officer. My true calling was working with citizens and making changes in the community. I knew I could not do so completely from the jail so I decided to move to the streets. I was hired by City of North Charleston police department in September 2008. I have worked with the department and many aspects of the patrol unit while employed at the city. I am a training officer as well as an instructor for the state of South Carolina. I currently possess four college degrees to include: associates in criminal justice, bachelors in criminal justice, a masters degree in business with a concentration in management, as well as my recent masters degree from the University of Louisville in Justice Administration. My career goals are to progress within the police department and eventually become a chief of an agency.
