About Ryan Thormaehlen

I received my Bachelor of Science in Sport Management from the University of Texas-Austin and earned my Masters of Business Administration (MBA) on May 11, 2017 from the McCoy College of Business at Texas State University. I have worked in the athletic department at both the University of Texas-Austin and Texas State University. During the first year of my MBA program, I served as the Volunteer Coach for the Texas State University Softball team. Once the softball season was over, I transitioned to the Facilities/Game Operations Department to further develop the skill-set necessary to be successful as a Event/Game Operations employee. On August 14, 2017, I transitioned to the Toyota Center in Houston, TX as the intern for the Event Operations department. This position has given me the opportunity to create, gather, and execute details as an Event Coordinator for NBA games and other third party events held at the Toyota Center. After my internship ended, I was fortunate enough to be hired full-time as an Event Services Coordinator for the Toyota Center. After almost 3 years as an Event Coordinator, I moved on to my current position as Manager, Projects and Planning for Toyota Center.
