I feel I am well qualified for a variety of roles with extensive maritime education, experience and industry training. I have had 10+ years of success as a junior and senior deck officer onboard various types and sizes of ships at sea. In shore-based roles as a superintendent, I had the opportunity to work on mega projects where I learned the importance of fostering a strong health and safety culture to protect people, environment and company interests. Having been raised in a small fishing community in Newfoundland I know how much the industry means to the well being of the people of the province. I have experienced first hand through 10 + years of fish harvesting, many of the challenges faced each season at sea as well as the rewards for landing a catch. I attribute much of my success to the fishery where I realised the importance of work ethic, commitment and teamwork.A licensed Master Mariner knowledgeable in all aspects of navigation, safety and maintenance. Experience at sea, dry docks and shipyards. I have demonstrated the ability to successfully manage a large deck team. Experienced in planning, hiring, budgeting in a complex marine operation.
