I am currently a student in the Social Service Worker program at Seneca college and I am expecting to become a graduate in April 2021. The two-year program provided me with experience in two different student placement positions. I have developed and demonstrated effective communication skills with active listening. In my time working with the senior population, I applied a strength-based approach by acknowledging the resiliency in members and focusing on positive attributes. An organized person with the ability to adapt, these strengths were evident in my first position involving administration work. I have enhanced my ability to collaborate and work apart of a team by completing task with a group. My awareness of anti-oppressive practice and trauma-informed care helps me build relationship with people from diverse backgrounds. My goal is to find a position in the field where I can utilize the skills and knowledge that I have acquired in the academic program. I am empathetic, passionate, and always open to learning.
