I manage a portfolio of Investec treasury clients, covering a diverse cross section of UK domiciled client relationships. The role remit is lead the client relationship and to further embed the client relationship with the bank whilst cross-selling other areas of the bank.

I worked on the Asset finance and Leasing, and the corporate and acquisition finance teams. I worked on the corporate treasury desk as a dealers assistant. I helped prepare and distribute the morning and evening commentaries that would go out to clients on a daily basis. I handled all the desks payments and related client queries. I monitored the press for news of existing clients and companies with potential foreign exchange exposure. I liaised with clients on a daily basis by making phone calls and sending emails. I gave FX rates for all our retail and broker clients which comprises of a set rate in the morning and constant calls with rate updates for larger deals throughout the day. I also booked customer deals on our systems. These deals include spot trades, forward trades, and swaps. I had to make sure that all funds received by us are allocated to either FX deals or placed on deposit in the clients’ accounts, to ensure that all the funds are allocated. I made sure the deals that needed settlement today get processed by the desk by ensuring that all the deals have payment instructions. I made sure that clients are aware of impeding maturing deals and that the desk is aware of which clients we are waiting for instructions to be received.
