In my role with Dunbia I was responsible for the day-to-day running and support of Operational Systems projects, through the entire project lifecycle, within budget and set timescales in line with defined project management standards. These all involved regular progress communication of key risks and issues requiring attention to Business Sponsors and IT Programme Manager, the management, monitoring and motivation of the cross functional teams assigned to the projects and the planning of the effective handover of projects to business as usual once operational. Dunbia currently employ over 4000 staff at 12 sites and have an annual turnover in excess of £700m.

Within the Foyle Food Group I have responsibility for all IT systems from hardware, infrastructure, software, telecoms etc for the Foyle Meats and Foyle Proteins plants based at Lisahally, Campsie, These sites employ approximately 320 persons and have an annual turnover of approximately £130million per year. In the time I have been here I have successfully implemented the new manufacturing system Innova from Marel for both our Beef and Pig processing from kill thru processing to dispatch and recently have completed the replacement of our financials system with the Microsoft Dynamics Nav ERP system.I have experience in the implementation of Citrix and Ericom Webconnect remote/thin clients solutions, Scanvaegt/Marel productions systems, VMWare and Marathon high availability server solutions, Microsoft Dynamics Nav. and Unitas ERP , Cisco network infrastructure design and implementation including redundant/failover solutions.

I had responsibility for all Huco’s IT systems, budgets and staff including that of the sales office’s in London and China During my employment with Huco my significant achievements have been• design and implementation of the IT infrastructure for our new purpose built Greenfield manufacturing facility which was opened in 2002• managing implementation of our secure Virtual Private Network with associated email and internet content management, remote access and firewall technologies• managing implementation of the SAP R/3 ERP software incorporating Financial Accounting, Controlling, Human Resources, Materials Management, Production Planning, Sales and Distribution and Quality Management modules. I continue to provide consultancy support for the remaining BAG Electronics management, sales and technical staff based in Northern Ireland following the relocation of manufacturing operations to India.

As part of my final year at University I spent the preceding summer months gathering information for my Dissertation with this multinational manufacturing organisation. Hoechst at Limavady was a manufacturer of man made fibre with products such as Trevira, I studied the Total Quality Management System and its application within the organisation and the impact it had on working practices.
