I'm a statistician by training with a strong background in quantitative analysis and modeling. After spending four years in an HPC environment, using large scale compute resources to implement stochastic models for seismic inversion problems, I took a position as a data scientist at Microsoft in their Security Research group. I'm motivated by coming up with elegant and simple solutions to complex applied problems, and enjoy puzzling out interconnections between theory and practice.From an application perspective I've done work in neuroscience and neuro-imaging, worked in the energy industry, and more recently done work in cybersecurity.Beginner's mind.
