Part of the post-acquisition team hired to get infrastructure and systems under control on the new chatbot product. I have a deep knowledge of Jenkins (CI/CD), AWS infrastructure patterns, Terraform (IaC), configuration management (Ansible), programming (Python, Javascript, Groovy). Using these skills I was able to hit the ground running and introduce patterns learned from other roles to refine existing infrastructure and launch two new environments.My ongoing work has led to promotion to staff engineer where I lead our team white boarding sessions and bi-weekly retrospective / planning. I take the lead in mentoring junior engineers and act as a technical resource for planning and architecture.This year I have taken point on a project to explore diversifying our 'chatbot' product infrastructure. I have been fortunate to take a deep dive into the way we use ML techniques to train and refine our technology. Lead security engineer attached to a late-stage startup. I applied my extensive experience working with cloud technology and PCI/DSS security compliance to gear the company up for GDPR & SOC2 compliance. Advise operations team regarding security, build workflows and processes, overhaul of AWS presence towards advised best-practices. Piloted new container orchestration automation built for simplicity and stability.Migrated in-house ML model training workflow to AWS Sagemaker; mentored team in use of cloud based workflows.

With the support of the VP of Platform I define, develop and guide company infrastructure and application support. I work with software engineering teams, across project teams, to provide a holistic view of application requirements; advising various teams how to interface their applications with one another and the infrastructure.

Working with a small software team I developed a custom ‘flavor’ of linux geared towards usage in an unattended kiosk key cutting machine. I developed the build and deployment strategy utilizing private package repositories and made use of LXC containers for system imaging and software development. Introduced Puppet for fleetwide configuration management.
