As the Director of Community Corrections at Ingham County I oversee grant writing and program administration, budget management, contract enforcement, and program utilization and performance evaluation for various community-based alternatives to incarceration. I have successfully secured and managed multiple grants to fund and expand the services and resources available to the participants and stakeholders of the community corrections programs. I have also implemented and monitored quality assurance standards and best practices to ensure the effectiveness and efficiency of the programs.I have over 11 years of experience in law enforcement and corrections, where I developed and skills and received certifications in crisis negotiation, gang analysis, training, interviewing, risk assessment and mitigation, conflict management and de-escalation, physical safety, subject control, weapons handling, and detailed report writing. I have held several leadership positions, such as a founding member of the JCAT gang analysis unit, a former union director, and a former training coordinator for over 100 officers. I have also received instructorships in various areas, such as firearms, taser, defensive tactics, pepperball, wrap restraint system, and CPR and first aid. I am proficient in speaking, reading, and writing Spanish and have excellent communication skills, both written and verbal. I am very detail oriented and passionate about serving and protecting the community.
