I am a mechanical engineer with an M.S. and eight years’ experience working in the semiconductor and lithography industry, specializing in precision optomechanical design. I am experienced with all stages of the development cycle, with a focus on ensuring timely delivery of high-quality, reliable designs. I have successfully completed and integrated multiple designs, one of which I received a patent for. I have also led two teams of mechanical engineers to address ongoing issues and to develop new designs.

Mechanical Engineering ArchitectAsml Jan 2020 - PresentVeldhoven, NlI am currently leading a technical team of nine mechanical engineers to develop both product and tooling to address a critical business need to improve machine functionality and lifetime. I created a technical roadmap to guide team progress with a unified strategy in order to meet project goals. I provide technical input for the creation of project plans and communicate status updates to project leaders. I also drive and document requirement agreements with key stakeholders in CT, the Netherlands, and Germany, and I traveled to Germany to discuss technical issues. Additionally, I oversee all concept generation, analyses, design reviews, and technical drawing creation. Finally, I coordinate prototype creation for early learning to improve designs. I am also a member of an internal group of recognized experts in tolerance analysis who are experienced with ISO and GD&T. As part of this group of tolerance analysis experts, I have taught a three-day class on tolerance analysis for new employees and reviewed analyses for various projects. -
Mechanical Engineering ArchitectAsml Jan 2019 - Dec 2019Veldhoven, NlI led a technical team of five mechanical engineers to identify and address ongoing issues with an alignment sensor product and its qualification test stand in order to improve production output. I conducted root cause analyses and drove work to address issues in an organized and priority-based manner. I also performed testing and analysis of sensor and test stand performance to diagnose issues. Finally, I coordinated cross-disciplinary engineering involvement of stakeholders in CT and the Netherlands. -
Mechanical Design EngineerAsml Oct 2014 - Dec 2018Veldhoven, NlI worked as a mechanical design engineer, specializing in precision optomechanics, and drove multiple components of a new generation of alignment sensor product through all stages of their design process, from design generation through production, integration, and documentation. I owned multiple sub-assemblies within the alignment sensor requiring both optical and mechanical expertise. For one of these sub-assemblies, I designed a mechanism able to consistently achieve in-situ, micron-level, adjustment accuracy, which I successfully submitted a patent for. I also conducted prototype testing to validate design functionality against specifications. Additionally, I worked with suppliers to ensure parts/assemblies were manufacturable and would meet specifications, including traveling to Switzerland twice to meet with a supplier to review designs and answer questions. Finally, I temporarily became a production engineer to address a critical need for support during the initial sensor builds. During my time as a production engineer, I was responsible for the quality production of multiple sub-assemblies within the alignment sensor. I also formalized the production processes, created procedure documentation, and trained technicians. -
Mechanical Design EngineerCornell Mars Rover Project Team Aug 2010 - May 2014I worked as a member of the Cornell Mars Rover Project Team since its founding. I was on the Drive Systems sub-team, where I worked on the design of the rover's suspension system. While doing my design work, I acquired and honed skills in many aspects of design and analysis, including using CAD and FEA software and design with machinability in mind. Additionally, I machined many parts for the team, becoming proficient in the use of both mills and lathes, and assisted in the assembly of the rover. Further, being a member of this project team gave me valuable experience working in a collaborative, team-based environment and interacting with engineers from other disciplines, including Computer Science and Electrical engineers.

Manufacturing Engineering InternGe Aviation Jun 2013 - Aug 2013I worked in the Rotating Parts Manufacturing Organization at GE Aviation's Lynn, MA, facility, which produces jet engine parts. I was responsible for ensuring the availability of proper gauge instrumentation for each step in the manufacturing process of each part, in order to maximize production efficiency. In order to carry out this responsibility, I coordinated with the gauge departments, clearly communicating my department's needs and timelines, in order to expedite the recalibration of vital gauges. I also helped facilitate the smooth flow of parts through the manufacturing process by tracking parts, communicating with machinists, and addressing any issues that arose. Further, I gained managerial experience by attending daily meetings with managers. Additionally, I served as the second-shift cell leader for two weeks. During this time, my responsibilities expanded to include meeting daily with the first-shift cell leader to create a machining plan, coordinating the work of the second-shift machinists, addressing issues that arose, and writing nightly status reports. While operating in this capacity, I helped oversee the production and shipping of over $1 million in parts.
