Lead financial performance analytics for the Medicare Shared Savings Program ACO. Conduct quarterly expenditure, utilization trends and potential savings projections for ACO and region, supporting ACO board and Finance committees. Responsibilities include receiving payor claims and beneficiary eligibility data, profiling and validating each dataset, coordinating the flow of claims and eligibility data to centralized claims database ETL processes, vendors, and UMass MCN clients. Tableau server administration responsibilities include management of report publication, report permissions, refresh of report data, Tableau active directory, reporting from Tableau server backend database, upgrading Tableau server version, consulting on the development of colleagues’ Tableau reports.Additional work includes collaboration in the development and validation of the centralized claims database. Designing processes to assure the integrity of claims data at each point in the data flow. Trained analysts in dBeaver SQL client, SPSS, and Tableau. Development of a suite of custom Tableau server administrative views. Reported on Tableau report usage for practice improvement. Collaboration in the design of processes using ADT, CCDA, and SFTP to feed the Mirth and Optum One data aggregation processes with claims and EHR data.

Developed data validation portals and a visual QA process for commercial payer data. This QA process was designed to identify and evaluate claims data anomalies before data warehouse processing. Completed beta development and provided technical support for the PCPR patient tracking database developed in previous position. Fielded ad hoc requests for claims data analysis. Created standard SQL queries for common claims data requests.

Provided data and analytics support to the care management team within the UMass PCPR (Primary Care Payment Reform) pilot program. Developed a care management patient tracking MS Access database for the MassHealth beneficiaries enrolled in the PCPR program. This database tracks contact between the care coordinators and the beneficiaries. This database integrates several different data sources, including MassHealth claims, risk assessments and practice registries, into a data mart for the program. This data mart ensures that the care management team has the data available in one location to maximize the efficacy of their outreach to patients. The database also provides reports on the achievements of the care management program.

Rounded hospital units in preparation for Joint Commission. Supported a wide variety of data initiatives including NICU data collection from patient EMR and results submission to the Vermont Oxford Network as well as the compilation of inpatient call light responsiveness data and subsequent database management and analysis.

Work involved participation in daily maintenance of the lab and the experimental animals, cell culture (seeding, passage, care), immunohistochemistry, Western Blotting, animal surgeries, preparation of histology slides and running various assays. Training involved scientific data analysis, medical literature research and publication tools, participation in journal club and presenting assigned relevant topics to the entire team on a regular basis.
