Responsible for the effective and efficiency delivery of maintenance plans for all City facilities. The reliability-centered plans ensure that city programs have safe, comfortable and dependable service for their buildings.

Working within the Lifecycle Management branch, managed internal technical staff and external consultants to assess the City's facility infrastructure (over a 1000 buildings) in a multiyear program.

• Provide leadership, oversight and guidance to program leaders and teams responsible for producing the desired results within the Preventative Maintenance, Water Treatment, Environmental/Energy Management, and Business Information Systems/Utilities Programs. • Key contact and resource to senior branch representatives for the provision of technical expertise and development of operations and maintenance strategies that result in reduced operating costs and improved productivities at individual facility, regional, and provincial levels.• Develop environmental/energy management programs and systems applying to the operation of building and facility assets, including provision of expertise pertaining to energy efficient technologies and best practices. • Implement the “Greening Government Strategy” in relation to operations of building assets; deliver environmental awareness events and sustainability reporting. • Maintain and enhance internal and web-based energy management system to track, analyze, and report on energy costs and consumption for facility assets and other sites and guides for environmental/energy management programs.• Develop analyses and information relating to environmental/energy management program issues.• Manages building support staff in terms of recruitment, training and development, workload and performance management, and development of human resource plans. • Manages contracts for various functions associated with building support operations. • Facilitates resolution of issues or conflicts pertaining to building support programs and relationships with clients and stakeholders, mentoring and guiding program leads and team members as required. • Serve on corporate services management team, providing input to the development, implementation, and evaluation of strategies and plans, determination of priorities, and coordination of operations.

• Ensure the technical accuracy of emissions inventories and compliance systems through a comprehensive understanding of processes and emission estimation methodologies applied to various emissions inventories and related programs.• Review and assess facility baseline applications and compliance reports to support greenhouse gas emissions reduction program.• Analyze and interpret emissions data, and relay information to stakeholders in a general and easy-to-understand manner.• Work in a team environment and with stakeholders to provide technical support and expert advice in assuring industrial and non-industrial data contained in the emission data warehouse and other systems.• Provide advice and recommendations around the integrity of underlying science and applicability of the science to organizational circumstances.• Providing specialist support to others in the department and the government on complex and emerging climate change and technology issues. • Evaluate project proposals. Identify emerging issues of relevance to organization.• Ensure that research results are communicated to stakeholders and the public in accordance with departmental policies, procedures and practices.• Manage the contracts for service provider support on the offset system.• Implement contracts, reviewing and approving deliverables and invoices throughout the year.

• Beginning as an Intern, learned Facility Evaluations through on-site experience and working with Technical Experts and Consultants. • Facilitator for ReCAPP training across the province. • Coordinated facility audits supporting health, school, post-secondary, and government-owned facilities. • Role has also involved consulting with user groups (schools, health, and post-secondary), developing and testing system interfaces with external systems, coordinating facility evaluations work with consultants, reviewing facility audits, preparation of instructions and training materials, training of individual users, and continual process improvements.• As part of the Technical Services branch we support major capital construction projects across the province by providing design review, investigations, and evaluations along with GIS and AutoCAD services. We implement preventative maintenance programs, investigate hazardous materials, and investigate mechanical, electrical, structural and architectural concerns within all facilities.

• Responsible for collection and testing of asphalt samples in a laboratory setting. • Operated coring machinery on construction sites to collect various samples.• Given responsibility of operating company vehicles to obtain and transport samples between sites and the laboratory. • The tests assisted the City of Edmonton in maintaining quality assurance on city roads and streets.*Worked summers of 2005, 2006, 2007 in this position while completing Engineering degree.
