College Town helped students at four regional colleges become invested in news happening on and around campus. I used conversational writing to tell stories about nightlife, music and adjusting to college life.

In 2016, I returned to my hometown to help highlight important news happening in Statesville, North Carolina. Crime, public meetings, history and court proceedings all fell under the umbrella of topics I covered.

Chapel Hill/Durham NC

As co-editor, I helped lead The Durham VOICE in its mission to give a voice to the voiceless. UNC-Chapel Hill students combined journalism and social justice while reporting on Northeast Central Durham, a historically underprivileged neighborhood.
