I like to say that I grew up with Walker. When I say it, though, I'm talking about more than having been there for 20 years. At every step along the way, from my start as a part-time production worker to my current position, I've grown in knowledge, skill, and confidence. I've been lucky enough to gain an expert-level education in product knowledge and custom tape converting. And I'm proud to have become the "go-to" guy when it comes to tape and converting.Much of the credit for this goes to peers, mentors, and training classes offered to me by Walker, all of which has allowed me to learn the right way to manage a company and, perhaps even more importantly, the right way to be in life. I could not have imagined the personal growth that has stemmed from my professional growth, but am enormously grateful for it.Over the years, I've also grown the business. Not by myself, of course, but as part of the Walker team. The numbers speak for themselves: Walker's employee, customer, revenue, and profit figures are all significantly higher now than they were when I started. I'm proud of having played a part in making the company what it is today.Additionally, in every position I've held at Walker, I've focused on growing relationships — with other employees, vendors, and new and existing customers. I've found that honesty, integrity, and trust are critical in every one of these relationships. I've also come to understand that the best and most effective service comes out of a genuine effort at putting ourselves in our vendors' and customers' shoes and working to address their problems as if they were our own.It is this last kind of growth that I'm most proud of — the growth of my relationships — because it ultimately allows me to help meet the needs of every one of our customers. And in doing that, Walker Tape Converting and I get to become a small piece of their success story.
