Being a student at NC State has really given me the "Think and Do" perspective, showing me that I can achieve anything I put my mind to. It has provided me with a great learning environment and has allowed me to enjoy learning and utilize opportunities that are presented to me. I understand that there is plenty more to learn and that the learning doesn't stop once I have graduated.I was fortunate enough to study abroad in London and force myself into an unknown environment to adapt, which is very similar to that of starting a new career. I had to meet new people from different backgrounds and work together to navigate through the London Underground Transit System, or "The Tube" as it is called there. I learned organizational skills and planning , having to balance class and exploring the United Kingdom during the limited time I had. I believe these skills can directly translate to allow myself to transition from a student environment to a professional environment.Along with these organizational and adjustment skills, I have learned how to better conduct myself as a professional through my summer internships with RDK Engineers working on HVAC Systems. It has showed me the importance of communication and teamwork in my field, which is the opposite from university classes, where almost all work is individual.
