Sales Assistant

Usc

Newcastle Upon Tyne, United Kingdom

I worked for USC on the footwear department as a sales assistant with duties that include greeting customers into and when exiting the store, delivering a high level of customer service to ensure quick service was given to every customer as much as possible. The main jobs on the footwear department were ensuring the shop floor was kept clean and stocked up at all times, making sure footwear replacements were being pulled from the stock room once the display shoe had been sold and making sure the codes, sale prices & sale tickets were put onto all shoes on the floor. I also took care of the footwear department when the Footwear Manager were on any days off/holidays, this meant managing the footwear staff, making sure the floor was ran to the best possible standard and everything ran smoothly, issuing jobs to the staff to make sure everyone on the floor had a job. Also, work in the stockroom was a big role in the job, whether it was getting footwear checks for customers/colleagues that were on the shop floor or whether it was staying on top of the stockroom by putting delivery away which consisted of new styles of footwear or replenishment. Once a customer had been served, add on sales (socks & insoles) were always offered to ensure the high level of customer service.

Mar 2015 - Mar 2017

Christmas Temp

Newcastle Upon Tyne, United Kingdom

I was employed by HMV as a christmas temp on a 4/5 week contract. When I first started, I got myself trained on the tills and spent the first couple of days just getting to grips with the tills and doing exchanges & refunds for customers. Once I felt comfortable on the tills, it was then going on the shop floor and being the face at the front of the store that welcomed customers into the store and helped anybody out that was struggling to find a particular item. Then I graduallt started asking for more tasks to do on the shop floor, such as filling up the chart walls and making sure they were well stocked, filling up the 5 for £30 offers, making sure gaps were kept to a minimum and then tidying up and keeping on top of the best selling CDs.

Nov 2014 - Dec 2014

Retentions Advisor

Bt

Newcastle Upon Tyne, United Kingdom

I worked at BT as a retentions advisor, dealing with customer accounts, queries & complaints. The job was also sales driven with targets to be hit daily & weekly which I continued to hit on a regular basis. I dealt with inbound calls with some days being switched to outbound calls, the aim of the job was to try and upsell services to customers that were eligible and didn't have the product on their account (i.e Broadband, Phone & TV) and if not, re-contracting the customer on a 12/18 month basis to retain their services with BT. During my time there, I also dealt with irate customers that wanted to issue a complaint or who had a fault with the service and followed the correct procedures to make sure the issue could be resolved and maintained a professional manner on the phone at all times to give a good impression of myself and BT as a company by being polite and being able to provide a solution.

Apr 2014 - Sep 2014

Customer Consultant

Newcastle Upon Tyne, United Kingdom

I worked at the AA as a customer consultant where I worked on an outbound department as well as handling incoming inbound calls too. My job consisted of ringing existing AA members and discussing their breakdown membership they currently held, making sure it was up to date with the correct information and to make them aware of the additional upgrades that were available to them and selling them if they benefited from any of them. Was issued with weekly targets and hit those targets on a weekly basis. I also dealt with inbound calls where the customer had missed the outbound call and had phoned back in and then we would go through the same procedure with their membership.

Oct 2013 - Mar 2014

Customer Service Assistant

G4S

Newcastle Upon Tyne, United Kingdom

I was employed by G4S through NRG where I was part of an appointments team that was made up of inbound and outbound calls. My first team on the outbound team was to simply ring customers trying to book in safety inspections for their gas & electric meters on behalf of SSE (Scottish & Southern Energy) hitting daily targets of 320+ outbound calls. On my second team, I was issued tasks of phoning jobs out to reps in the 8 areas of the country. There were several jobs that would need to be phoned out and I would need to check the rotas for the different areas to find the correct rep that was covering the post code where the job was. During my time at G4S, I also helped train two fellow colleagues that were employed on the same team.
