I worked with the major projects design group out of the Topeka Operations Center. This group designs large distribution grid projects such as grid expansion for new customers or relocations around road construction. My responsibilities were focused on construction plan and material order replications during a company switch to an AutoCAD-based design software.

During my internship at Black & Veatch, I worked with the Distribution Grid Engineering team. My time was split between the project design and fault protection/grid controls groups. With the project design group we worked on rural underground distribution projects and with the grid controls group we focused on new device installations.
