The Army's senior representative to the Federal Aviation Administration headquarters in Washington, D.C. Represents the Army on aviation policy and safeguards Army interests pertaining to aviation operations within the United States.

Led the Army's designated functional proponent for air traffic and airspace. Coordinated the protection of DoD installations as unmanned aircraft systems gain access to the national airspace system (NAS). Guided the formal cooperation between the Army and the FAA on matters pertaining to operations in the NAS.

Select member of a task force chartered by the Chief of Staff of the Army and assembled by the Army's senior Aviation officers with the purpose of conducting a holistic review of Army Aviation. The task force reviewed all aspects of Army Aviation across leadership, readiness, training, maintenance and sustainment, policy, and resources. Personal focus areas included commissioned officer, warrant officer, and non-commissioned officer career management, air traffic service structure and utilization, and Army active component support to reserve component training and readiness. Additionally, remained on the task force as a lead writer for two chapters (training and force optimization) of the final report to the Chief of Staff of the Army.

Led the Army's designated functional proponent for airfield and heliports. Served as Army's budget manager for 88 Army airfields and heliports. Responsible for establishing Army airfield and heliport operational policy and approving waivers to established standards. Manages Army's Vertical Obstruction Program. Assigned as central coordinating authority for Army Notice to Airmen (NOTAM) System. Evaluates and approves requests for military-civilian joint use of Army airfields. Synchronized Army aviation weather resourcing when required.

Operations Officer of an Aviation Brigade Task Force, consisting five battalions including 1,900 personnel and 136 helicopters forward deployed to Afghanistan, and an additional 1,400 personnel stationed at JBLM, Washington. Responsible for planning and executing aviation operations across three regions of Afghanistan, while maintaining oversight of all training and support operations at JBLM, WA. Additionally, leads the operations process for the brigade commander to ensure all orders are developed within his intent, and provides mission command over all operations across the brigade. Coordinates with the entire staff to ensure efforts are synchronized and subordinate battalions are resourced to execute their missions.

Responsible for directing, supervising, and synchronizing the battalion Staff, functional areas, and activities. Provide necessary command and control to the Battalion in the absence of the Commander. Train Staff personnel in planning, operations procedures, and Staff integration. Formulate Staff policy, ensuring they perform assigned duties and functional areas.

Lead the Brigade Aviation Element and integrate aviation into the Brigade Commander's ground scheme of maneuver. Conduct close coordination with the Operations Officer, Commander and Staff. Serve as the aviation subject matter expert (SME) for the BCT commander and Operations Officer. Responsible for advising the BCT commander and Staff on the status and availability of aviation assets and their capabilities and limitations. Recommend and help coordinate priorities and allocations of aviation assets, and help determine the priorities for their employment.

Student of military tactics, operations, and strategy. Subjects vary, but include history, leadership, planning, world affairs, team building, critical thinking, and strategy.

Serve as the Stability Transition Team Deputy, Generating Force and Intelligence Advisor to the Iraqi 5th Region, Department of Border Enforcement, covering five provinces, 130,000 square kilometers of land (including the Saudi border), and 5,200 personnel. Responsible for advising and assisting the Iraqi regional Leader Development, Training Management, Curriculum Development & Implementation, Supply Chain Management, and Training Academy operations. Also responsible for advising and assisting the Iraqi regional Information & Security Officer on Information Management, Policy Development, and Information Sharing.

Responsible for planning, preparing, coordinating, and synchronizing the Combined Arms Center's equities to ensure they are accurately articulated in strategic and Army Command-level plans, policies, directives, and communicated in appropriate forums. Responsible for maintaining close coordination with Army Training and Doctrine Command and the Army Capability Integration Center in order to ensure successful execution of the Combined Arms Center's critical mission areas of Battle Command, Doctrine, Collective Training, and Leader Development. Responsible for preparing and coordinating staff actions, conducting mission analysis of incoming staff actions and tasks, and developing information and decision briefs.

Serve as the Chief of the Aviation Section, Plans/Exercise Maneuver Control at the Joint Readiness Training Center. Responsible for planning, coordination, and exercise maneuver control of aviation operations for Army, Navy, Air Force, Marine Corps, and Special Operations Forces. Serves as the Joint Task Force J3 Air and Assistant Division Aviation Officer responsible for integration of Army aviation into Joint operations for all rotational maneuver task forces. As the senior aviation representative in the Joint Airspace Control Center, responsible for the management of all airspace deconfliction, the command and control of Fort Polk special use airspace, and the safe and efficient use of Federal Aviation Administration restricted airspace.

Responsible for providing realistic, quality combat and leader training as well as constructive and pertinent feedback to aviation units throughout the Army. Teaches, coaches, and mentors company commanders, junior leaders and Soldiers to enhance professional growth and develop tomorrow's Army Warfighters. Facilitate unit training to allow them to test tactics, techniques, and procedures against a realistic threat as well as expose them to new and emerging doctrinal techniques to prepare them for future combat operations. Additionally, conduct live fire exercises in order to allow rotational units to train with live ammunition in a safe environment which replicates the current combat environment.

Responsible for facilitating and tracking the maintenance of all air and ground equipment in the brigade, valued in excess of $380 million. Provide support for all training and real-world missions to ensure the brigade is ready to deploy within 18 hours of notification. Ensure the brigade's readiness by providing oversight on all logistical matters, to include aviation and ground maintenance, food service, and the brigade budget valued in excess of $20 million.

Commander of one of the only three Airborne Assault Companies in the Army; which consists of 10 UH-60L Blackhawk helicopters, 19 officers, and 21 enlisted personnel. Lead and train the company to be prepared to deploy worldwide within 18 hours of notification; fight, and win. Responsible for the combat readiness of 10 Blachawk helicopters, four wheeled vehicles, and the associated ground support equipment valued in excess of $80 million. Serve as the Air Mission Commander during combined arms, live fire, H-Hour Air Assaults, artillery raids, and other combat operations. Teach, train, and mentor while caring for paratroopers and their Families.

Responsible for the coordination, management, and synchronization of all Aviation Brigade plans, operations, and training for a Cavalry Squadron, Attack Battalion, Air Assault Battalion, Aviation Intermediate Maintenance Company, and a Brigade Headquarters Company comprised of 48 OH-58D(R) Kiowa helicopters, 38 UH-60L Blackhawk helicopters, 271 vehicles, and over 1,350 paratroopers. Plans, resources, and executes Brigade training for contingency operations to include forced entry missions within 18 hours of notification. Plans and coordinates focused, multi-echelon, combined arms training events, ensuring the Brigade maintains the highest state of combat readiness.

Plan and direct logistical readiness data to enhance the brigade's warfighting capability. Manage maintenance, transportation, supply discipline, budget, and procurement to improve readiness and support daily operations. Responsible for the programming and expenditure of the brigade's budget, which exceeds $10 million, as well as the tracking of all the unit purchase card accounts in the brigade. Advises the brigade commander on all issues regarding the budget.

Responsible for the morale, welfare, and discipline of five officers, eight enlisted Soldiers, and their command-sponsored dependents. Responsible for the accountability and combat readiness of four UH-60 Blackhawk helicopters, one wheeled vehicle, and all other assigned mission equipment, totaling in excess of $30 million. Responsible for the safe accomplishment of all assigned missions and Aircrew Training Program tasks for the platoon and all supported aircrew members.
