Strata seeks to find voluntary solutions to modern public policy issues. Through research and investigation we inform the public on the threats facing our natural resources, solutions to public lands issues and health care policy. For decades United States legislators have attempted to confront these matters by writing complicated and often times burdensome laws. In many cases existing environmental policies have even thwarted green initiatives made by individuals and organizations. Public lands policy is constantly stymied by burdensome regulations and litigation. Health Care policy has been written such that is too complicated for citizens to understand. Simply put, as a society we are going about many public policy issues in the wrong way. Strata employs graduate and undergraduate students who are seeking to gain more experience in finding answers through professional research. As future business and political leaders, these academics are given a unique opportunity and are exposed to the market-based solutions to environmental concerns.

For the People is a news and political radio talk show that airs on KVNU in Logan, Utah from 4-6 pm Monday-Friday. The show, which debuted on April 28, 2006, was hosted by Thomas Grover and Ryan Yonk. The show touches on local, state, and national issues and takes calls from listeners. Interviews are frequently conducted with local and state newsmakers, politicians, and government officials. On Fridays, For the People ran the "Friday News Quiz," in which listeners answer questions about news stories and compete for a $25 gift certificate to a local restaurant. Tickets to basketball games and local cultural events are frequently given out to listeners.
