Responsibilities as a Principal Engineer in the eero Office of the CTO include software system architecture, software and hardware technology roadmap, technology explorations, technical leadership of cross-functional engineering projects, product integrations with Amazon and 3Ps, strategic planning, standards body representation (Wi-Fi Alliance, Zigbee, CHIP), writing whitepapers, tech spec and product requirement reviews, program management, engineering blog post series, open source support, technical sales discussions, and hands-on software engineering.Invented and launched eero built-in, bringing eero's mesh technology to the Amazon Echo product line as an in-life software update. Led and advised projects using real-time and historical network and fleet data to solve customer issues and build customer support dashboards and fleet management tools for ISP partners. Responsible for driving down eero's ongoing cost of product operation through reducing AWS spend without sacrificing product features, reliability, or security. Cut AWS spend by 60% in the 12 months before acquisition. Led a cross-team system architecture effort that provided efficient, secure, realtime communication between all entities in the eero ecosystem (mesh router, mobile app, cloud, remote management tools).

Created and led an exploratory R&D team within the company to investigate product enhancements that combined complex radio-level signals extracted from the hardware with a realtime machine learning platform built from scratch.

I joined Quanergy as the first employee, managing the software team as it grew to five employees. I led software development and planning as we created integration, perception, and mapping systems using Quanergy's low-cost, high-performance LiDAR sensors. I worked directly with strategic partners to integrate our sensors into their platforms for advanced driver assistance systems and autonomous driving.Software development in C++, using PCL, Boost, ROS, and Git. Directly responsible for sensor drivers and network connectivity, calibration algorithms, sensor fusion, point cloud registration algorithm development and refinement, and object classification.

Developed R models and PHP web tools for forecasting power flow over constrained power lines, analyzing generators' effects on the system, and analyzing the effects of the changing topology of the grid. Implemented Security Constrained Unit Commitment (SCUC) optimization to model optimal economic dispatch of generators given system constraints. Forecasts and models were used to generate predictions of electricity prices at various locations in the electrical grid and to price bids in electricity market auctions. Extensive integration of R, MySQL, and PHP in development of models and web tools.

Developed a Phase I SBIR prototype for the Air Force on the Space Surveillance Network. Created a scheduler that assigns Earth-based sensors to observe orbiting objects at certain positions in order to reduce error covariance and improve tracking of man-made orbital objects. Won Phase II contract. Published paper for AIAA InfoTech conference.
