After pursuing a higher education and achieving a degree in Mechanical Engineering, I set out to get a job in which I could help positively affect people’s lives. I spent 6 years working in the medical device industry working to better health care products and decrease the cost of devices by improving manufacturing technics. I specialized in laparoscopic instruments and work up to heart ablation catheter. While the impacts I made were seen worldwide, I wanted to help further benefit those in need in my community. During the pandemic, I focused my efforts on becoming a first responder, while working full time in the medical device field. My goal was to help those around me by helping with the health care provider shortage. I pursued my EMT certification and went to work on the weekends working on a 911 ambulance. During my time on the ambulance, I enjoyed the job so much I decided to switch career paths and follow in the footsteps of my parents. I went back to school while working full time to pursue a degree in Fire Technology and eventually got into the fire service at OCFA. It is here that I am following my childhood dream of doing what my parents did while being able to help those in need.
