Interventional Radiology nurse, dedicated to keeping patients safe and comfortable during their elective or emergent procedure.

Providing care to patients at the bedside and working with an interdisciplinary team to help get the patient as close as possible back to baseline for a safe discharge.

Working closely with interventional radiologist, and neurosurgeons in a variety of cardiovascular interventional procedures and neurovascular interventional procedures to achieve positive patient outcomes by monitoring and/or providing moderate sedation to patients during their procedure. Familiar with working in a sterile environment and also working closely with radiology technicians. On-call for emergent procedures to include thrombectomies and embolization procedures.

Working with a multidisciplinary team To ensure that the patient has continuing care at home with IV therapy and/or enteral therapy.Providing patients with the knowledge to be able to care for themselves in the home setting.

2015 – Present, Cardiac Processing Unit, inpatient/outpatient unit- 6 months of experience working in Hybrid OR room, involving patients receiving transcatheter aortic valve replacement (TAVR), abdominal aortic aneurysm grafting, mitral clipping, endarterectomy of arteries, peripheral bypass surgeries. - After 6 months, internally transferred to Cardiac processing unit, preparing and recovering patients, knowledgeable in invasive cardiology, electrophysiology, and interventional radiology procedures.- Starting intravenous lines on patients in pre-procedure, and administering pre-meds as needed. - Analyzing labs and other diagnostics to ensure that it is safe for patient to have procedure performed. - Knowledgeable in use of Epic applications to include Cupid, Radiant, and EpicCare inpatient.- Provide patient education on discharge, concentrating on safety and restrictions to prevent complications in home environment, and using teach back methodology to ensure patient understands teaching provided. - Yearly in-service to peers on topics related to invasive cardiology, electrophysiology, or interventional radiology.2008 – 2015, Medical-Surgical/Neurology/Telemetry, inpatient unit- Responsible for assessment of patients and implementing care ordered by physicians to include medication administration, wound care therapies, mobility therapies, and assisting patients with activities of daily living.- Charge nurse, responsible for managing staff, providing customer service, resolving conflicts between staff and patient/family members.- Preceptor, responsible for educating newly hired staff on workflow, device use, medication administration, and bedside care. - Provide patient education with focus on prevention of re-hospitalization, to include importance of follow-up appointments, lifestyle changes, and medication adherence. - After receiving CMSRN, providing yearly in service to peers on topic related to medical-surgical, or neurology nursing.

- Preparing patients for various out patient procedures/operations to include orthopedic, urological, gastrointestinal, plastics, and general surgical procedures.- Monitoring patients in the post procedure/op phase for acute complications.- Educating patient on discharge about post procedure/op expectations and restrictions to prevent complications.
