I am currently a physics PhD student at the University of Georgia. In 2017 I received my Bachelor of Science degree in Physics from the University of South Florida. Alongside my degree work, I co-opted at Micromaterials with a former USF professor where I fabricated specialty sapphire optical fibers for roughly two years. My time invested co-opting eventually led to a first author publication.Published in the Journal of Raman Spectroscopy titled, "A penetrating Raman probe with self-referencing capability" as of August 16th, 2017.Upon graduating, I accepted a role as a R&D fiber optic engineer at OFS in Atlanta Georgia. My time at OFS introduced me to the strict requirements of fiber optic performance, novel methods of testing and classifying fiber performance, simulating fiber specifications, in addition to other key tasks.
