Database Administrator/Software Engineer
Current● Leader and key contributor in complex, collaborative projects that require significant business process change.● Communicate effectively with people at all levels of the organization to understand operational and decision-making needs.● Perform research and statistical analysis depending on the study’s objective, type and distribution of the data used, and nature of the observations.● Develop, integrate and maintain the university’s ERP infrastructure across on-premise and cloud-based enterprise platforms.● Design ETL and data warehouse architectures to extract and process information from multiple sources. Structure large data sets to find usable information, perform analysis and identify trends in KPIs and metrics.● Use BI tools like Tableau to visualize data in ways that can be easily consumed and inform action.● Use expertise in determining the appropriate visualization method based on the nature of the report and its intended audience.● Manage multiple projects and deadlines effectively using formal project management tools.● Foster data trust by facilitating a data user group, maintaining a data dictionary, and automating business rules using programming techniques.● Promote data equity to ensure diverse stakeholders are engaged throughout the data lifecycle.● Maintain confidentiality with sensitive data, perform security testing, and ensure compliance to federal, state and institutional guidelines such as FERPA.● Perform all database design, development and administration using systems such as MS SQL Server, SSIS/SSAS/SSRS, Oracle, MySQL, and MS Access.● Develop, implement and maintain the university’s application infrastructure using web applications and programing languages such as HTML, CSS, Java, JavaScript, VBScript, AJAX, Visual Basic, ASP, ASP.NET, C#, Python and T-SQL.● Learn new technologies and programming languages as needed.
