It has been challenging managing patient and staff safety while ensuring staff and patient satisfaction levels are exceeded during the Covid period. My responsibility included but were not limited to the following • Provide overview of the day-to-day management of teams: accountable for ensuring work routines, policies, procedures and expected standards are relevant and upheld • Ensure Mercy Hospital has a full understanding of best practice for all areas of responsibility and this is implemented as appropriate • Actively develop external business opportunities where applicable • Coordinate functions and ensure they are run to the specified client requirements • Contribute to strategic direction of all areas in the portfolio • Waste and recycling management • Contribute to the development of the Hospital-wide annual business and strategic plans • Develop and promote annual service areas business plans • Prepare business case reports when changes are required • Proactive involvement in creation and review of policies for managed areas and Hospital-wide as required • Business cases and policy development are based on evidence from literature reviews and industry best practice industry • Where services are outsourced, act as Contract Manager to ensure the Hospital’s service expectations are met • Report compliance and progress against the planned objectives throughout the year • Review and report on service expansion opportunities
