I am a big believer in open source, continually evolving your architecture to improve developer productivity, and decreasing operating costs.I have been developing software solutions for over 20 years. As a 90s teenager I taught myself how to code by studying others freely available Perl scripts.I have a high level of experience leading full-stack software development teams. This includes leading development with remote and onsite teams across the entire product development life cycle. I have led teams with 1 to 20+ developers on agile projects, some engagements lasting 2+ years bringing big ideas to life, driving the architecture for very large web and mobile enterprise-grade applications. I've also at times flown into businesses for a week to help solve a technical challenge. I've worked on many software products including for companies such as AT&T Connected Car, BlackBerry, Cisco, Complete Genomics, Energy Transfer, FedEx SenseAware (utilized to track the delivery of the vaccine), Healthgrades, HP, Pearson Education, Priority Health, and Raymond James. I have also helped many startups bring their MVP to life. I am often called in when development teams are trying to adopt a new technology, struggling to find the right process to meet deadlines as a team, need guidance/mentorship on development best practices, and/or need product direction. I am always seeking out the best tool(s) for the job. I have used many different languages, frameworks, and development practices over the years by following the evolution of open source.
