My role involves analyzing patient care events and hospital-acquired conditions to identify patterns and areas for improvement, ensuring optimal outcomes and regulatory compliance with local, state, and federal standards.Key Responsibilities:Develop and implement comprehensive quality, risk, and patient safety strategies for a 400-bed, Level II trauma center, achieving notable reductions in RAMI and HAI rates, and improving Stroke DTN and Sepsis antibiotic administration times.Oversee and manage the Quality, Risk, Regulatory, Patient Safety, Infection Prevention, and Accreditation teams.Conduct Root Cause Analyses and facilitate SMART action plans to drive performance improvement.Monitor and analyze safety trends through the Event Reporting System.Lead the Continuous Survey Readiness Program, including mock surveys and TJC AMP Tracers.Manage regulatory communications with the Indiana State Department of Health and other agencies.Oversee re-accreditation processes for American College of Cardiology Programs.Chair multiple committees, including Patient Safety, Workplace Violence, Heart Failure, Cardiac Cath Lab, Transcatheter Aortic Valve Replacement, Chest Pain, Complaints and Grievances, and Cardiology Performance Improvement.Provide consultative oversight for the Environment of Care, Life Safety, and Emergency Management Programs.Orient and train staff on Risk, Regulatory Quality, and Principles of High Reliability.My role as Patient Safety Officer enables me to drive significant improvements in patient care and safety, fostering a culture of excellence throughout the organization.
