In my substantive Science Advisor role, I am the NCR subject matter expert for groundfish stocks in the Gulf and Quebec regions. I monitor and coordinate various capital budgets for fisheries survey work as well as advise in the oversight and program operation for the Sustainable Fisheries Science Fund (SFSF). My role is also dynamic in that I contribute to the Science At-Sea program as a fisheries science liaison. I continue to create and contribute to new tools for science staff that help to streamline the process for establishing charter mission contracts for science work through the Request for Supply Arrangement initiative and database created from it. This position requires a significant experiential skillset to be able to receive and respond to a variety of request types from management quickly and efficiently.
