I oversee and manage all global matters related to the legal, regulatory, compliance and corporate governance functions for TMC (a Nasdaq-listed company), including obtaining all required operational authorizations, securities reporting, regulatory compliance, corporate governance, and transaction execution.The Metals Company will enable the battery-powered shift to clean energy and electric vehicles with the lightest planetary touch. We will produce metals from polymetallic rocks to power the clean energy transition and electric vehicles. For over a decade, we’ve been exploring the planet’s largest known deposit of battery-grade metals on the seafloor of the Clarion Clipperton Zone in the Pacific Ocean. During this time, our onshore team has developed and successfully deployed a metallurgical system to derive key battery metals from these remarkable rocks while generating zero solid processing waste. Our team is made up of scientists, environmentalists, engineers, architects, and business leaders who see the climate crisis as the biggest challenge of our time. Electric vehicles and renewable energy are a key part of the solution, but scaling these technologies will require hundreds of millions of tons of new metals. Polymetallic nodules represent the cleanest source of battery-grade metals on the planet and the best path forward.

I led the provision of legal services to all business lines in North America for Ausenco, a global leader in consulting, engineering, project management and operations solutions for the resources and energy sectors.

As part of the Minerals Australia Legal team, I advised on a wide variety of major capital projects in Australia, as well as global projects across BHP.

As lead counsel supporting the development of the largest potash mine in the world, I provided legal advice on all aspects of the mine project, as well as all rail and port options. As a member of the Potash Leadership Team, I provided strategic guidance on all aspects of the project, including regulatory, labour & employment, environmental, permitting, EPCM negotiations and management and general corporate/commercial advice. In addition, as part of the broader BHP Legal team, I was involved in multiple global initiatives.

As Assistant General Counsel, North America, I provided high-level strategic advice on a wide range of legal issues across many different jurisdictions, including corporate/commercial matters, M&A, anti-corruption compliance, environmental permitting, litigation matters, mineral exploration and employment law.

As Legal Counsel, I advised on a wide variety of legal issues, including securities law, NI 43-101 compliance, anti-corruption policies, corporate finance and mineral exploration.
