Recognizing a need for a simple and free option for the public to safely dispose of hazardous electronics and appliances, Ryan opened free recycling centers across Contra Costa County as well as holding free recycling events across the Bay Area. By the third year Dump My TV diverting over 1million pounds of electronics from the landfill. All of the electronics were disassembled in house and sorted for sale to local environmentally friendly companies. Besides the obvious environmental impact of this business, Dump My TV became a tremendous profit center while providing jobs to underserved communities.
