Consulting for the Data Centers & Critical Facilities team in preparation of KAUST's 3rd generation supercomputer and data center expansions. Working with the local team and a third-party to expand the design to increase the requirements from 5MegaWatts to 16MegaWatts. I prepared the scope of work, RFP documentation, and evaluated design firms for contract award.

At Indeed, I was a Program Manager responsible for the successful delivery of global real estate expansions encompassing all aspects of Infrastructure and AV. Such projects required a high level of coordination and communication among internal teams, technical partners and contractors. In addition to completing 12 international projects, I introduced new acoustic measurement tools and video technology to the Indeed portfolio. I also composed all of the IT, wireless and AV standards documentation required for all new builds and retrofits, as well as data center redesign. These projects ran simultaneously all over the world.

While at TechKnowledge, I managed 14 building projects for the largest higher education entity in Texas. The scope of each project included budget proposal, implementation planning, project delivery, and the drafting of network and AV standards. In addition to providing them with a high-quality infrastructure, the network cabling standardization resulted in significant savings from both a cost and time perspective. ▪ Worked with each campus director to gather IT and AV requirements for their new buildings and expansion projects.▪ Collaborated with the IT architects, engineers, and IT leadership at the college to verify their needs and current standards for systems deployment.▪ Composed an extensive set of IT and AV Standards documents and guides for the engineers and subcontractors to utilize for building designs and deployments.▪ Validated and coordinated cabling infrastructure, AV designs, security systems, and electrical requirements with the building architecture firm, MEP, civil engineers, and IT/AV subcontractors.▪ Composed Division 27 Specifications for each campus and project.▪ Responsible for the review and validated all cabling and AV bids.▪ Reviewed and marked up all IT and AV architectural drawings to ensure accuracy before installation of base-building cabling and conduit.▪ Conducted multiple site walk-throughs with IT teams and subcontractors to ensure proper installation of cabling and IT infrastructure during construction.

As Network Telecom and IT Manager at Cleveland Clinic Abu Dhabi, I was a hands-on manager, providing leadership and technical guidance to a team of highly skilled contractors and FTEs. We successfully completed the build-out of a $300 Million network, telecom, wireless, AV and security infrastructure. As a result of my vision and efforts in gaining approval through the government regulatory authorities, we were the first entity in the country to utilize dual carriers for internet and telecommunications for resiliency. ▪ Managed and mentored multiple teams of network, telecommunications, and AV professionals of varying skills and backgrounds for design, and support of the network, telecommunications, and AV infrastructure build-out for the CCAD hospital project. ▪ Worked with telecom providers for the corporate mobile phone devices and management solutions.▪ CCAD was the first organization in the UAE to leverage more than one telecom provider for redundant internet services and dual MPLS connectivity across two administrative buildings, the hospital campus, and the business continuity site.▪ Oversight of the design and implementation of the Information Security infrastructure to protect the enterprise network and critical applications. ▪ Assisted with the design of the onsite and remote data center strategy and implementation. ▪ Responsible for the design of the contact center technical strategy and implementation. ▪ Led the design and implementation of over 100 high-definition Cisco TelePresence and conferencing solutions for internal and global video communications. ▪ Championed the design and implementation of next-generation communication devices such as Vocera badges, Microsoft Lync, and Cisco Jabber with full integration between systems. ▪ Liaised with building architects and construction teams to ensure the quality delivery of network, telecommunications, and A/V infrastructure throughout the construction project.

As a technical lead of IT network services for the Baylor Hospital Initiative, I had end-to-end technical responsibility for the design, implementation, and operation of the Baylor Hospital IT systems. Baylor College of Medicine was in the building phase of a 1.2 million square foot hospital system. I served as the lead engineer implementing an additional business continuity and data center space near the Texas Medical Center. ▪ Consulted for teams of network and telecommunications engineers, IT management, and applications owners to prepare them to support clinicians and hospital support challenges. ▪ Lead for the architecture, design, and support of the network and telecommunications infrastructure build-out for the BCM hospital project. ▪ Responsible for the design and move of the onsite and remote datacenter strategy and implementation. ▪ Worked with internal and external hospital stakeholders to develop the requirements and specifications for the healthcare ready infrastructure and support.▪ Liaised with building architects and construction teams to ensure the quality delivery of network and telecommunications infrastructure throughout the hospital construction project. ▪ Consulted on the new building data networks of campus core, server farm, edge distribution, building distribution, and floor access switches according to Baylor Hospital requirements and network industry best practices.▪ Cross-training the IT department for hospital system support, composing policies, procedures, and technical documentation. ▪ Managed the implementation of the redundant, datacenter to datacenter DWDM solutions for data and SAN high capacity transport.

My position at Texas Children's Hospital was highly technical and primarily network related. As a network architect, I was responsible for all networking and wireless systems. While maintaining 100% uptime on a life-critical communications network, I redesigned and updated the core network, retrofitted and built multiple data centers, and was the lead technical POC for all clinical communications needs. I was responsible for all CapEx and OpEx budgets and provided mentorship and guidance to the networking team and contractors for all new technologies and rollouts of new infrastructure while creating an IT service catalog of our technologies.▪ Provided support and migrated the network from “token ring” technology to gigabit ethernet topology.▪ Selected and managed contract professionals to assist in the deployments of multiple projects simultaneously.▪ Developed multi-year roadmaps and executive presentations for technical improvements, management tools, and expansion designs for capital and operational budget forecasting.▪ Designed and supported 50+ clinic networks surrounding Houston via serial and Ethernet transport solutions.▪ Constructed and maintained the network design and management for both Avaya and Cisco IP phone solutions.▪ Served as the lead network liaison for departments within the organization i.e. Diagnostic Imaging/PACS, Cardiology, Biomedical Engineering, Server Support, and Neurophysiology.▪ Managed approval of network equipment orders including negotiation, design, presentations, and implementation.▪ Maintained a detailed network infrastructure utilizing Visio, Cisco Works, and Solar Winds.▪ Led the strategy, design, and implementation of infrastructure to a 10-gigabit backbone upgrade for the core, distribution, data center and access networks.▪ Led the strategy, design, and implementation of four TCH onsite data-centers.▪ Worked closely with the server and storage teams for the disaster recovery solutions.

As an IT consultant for CCAD, I was placed at multiple customer sites for technical support, backfilling of roles, and project assistance. The customers included Texaco, Enron Oil and Gas, Baylor College of Medicine, and Texas Children’s Hospital.▪ Responsibilities included providing high-level hardware and software PC support for Enron Oil and Gas, and working in a team-based technical group performing Lotus Notes migration and rollout to all users.▪ Worked with Baylor College of Medicine during the Y2K preparations for IT systems and support.▪ Provided high-level support and troubleshooting of PC hardware and software performance issues, as well as installation, configuration and maintenance of PC hardware and software at Texaco.▪ Network support for a combination of Novell and NT networks, printer installation and troubleshooting, PC hardware, peripherals and software troubleshooting, some system administration for Windows, Novell, VAX and VMAS authentication along with call tracking.▪ Placed at Texas Children’s Hospital to assist in design and implementation of the enterprise network conversion from FDDI to the Cisco recommended meshed gigabit network.▪ Designed and Upgraded Cisco VPN architecture for multi-point, multi-zone remote access.▪ Implemented the Cisco MARS security event management system to provide centralized log collection, incident and event correlation, and enterprise-wide threat analysis.

At Welker Engineering, I provided technical support for the national sales and service team.▪ Provided maintenance and repair of electronic and hydraulic hydrocarbon sampling equipment and field services for customers.▪ Provided customer support and handled customer calls and inquiries.▪ Walked customers through troubleshooting of their sampling process and questions.▪ Participated in inside/outside sales calls with sales management.▪ Visited customer sites (local, out of state, and offshore) to resolve issues or perform new installations, as appropriate.▪ Worked at national trade shows to demonstrate their equipment.▪ Provided some internal IT support for the Welker IT systems.

At CADSA, I worked with industry-leading satellite communications experts while learning and building digital communications prototypes and basic builds.▪ Served as an engineer apprentice for the design teams at CADSA.▪ Provided services in electronics troubleshooting, repair, and research and development for satellite data communications.▪ Built prototype designs for high-speed data communications via satellite.▪ Handled monitor and control (satellite uplinks/down-links) for major broadcasting stations.▪ Remodeled and built the monitor and control frame capable of managing over 120 broadcasts for a farm of 10 high-output 3 to 10 meter transmitters.
